We all have heard about the disastrous situation of farmers all over the world. Due to the pandemic, there have been numerous breaks in the produce supply chain.

Farmers usually have a crop system, wherein they know when they should plant, when they can harvest and when they can immediately sell or supply their crops. Unfortunately, the pandemic greatly affected transport freedom and lockdowns all over the world seemingly happened simultaneously. Farmers suddenly lost their buyers, ways of transportation and worst of all, ended up with tons of produce that they are not able to store.

Some choose to sell their produce for an ultimate bargain, going as low as P3 per kilo which I have been told is even less than the cost to plant. This means they are losing money by selling their harvests instead of gaining any profit. Most choose to just throw away their crops as they see it as a cheaper route.

Imagine throwing away tons of produce that should’ve been your family’s income. Even seeing the videos and pictures online of fruits and vegetables being thrown away hurts my soul. So, when I came across Sagada Harvests on Facebook, my interest was immediately piqued.

Sagada Harvests is an initiative by the team of Mr. Christian to help our northern brothers.

From their Facebook page:

The Sagada Harvests Project seeks to expand the market of highland produce to Metro Manila households as a way of helping farmers cope with the coronavirus pandemic. This is an initiative of private individuals as requested by the affected farmers.

What sets them apart is that they charge reasonable prices for the goods (equal or cheaper than regular market prices) and they give the farmers the majority of the profit.

They started in mid-August, and I was luckily able to purchase a few items during their September 15 batch.

Here’s what I purchased from them:

They also offer a variety of other items such as fruits, vegetables, bread, and others.

Here’s how you can order.

  • Like their Facebook page as they release a Google Form for pre-orders. The Google Form is where you’ll be able to see the full list of items that is going to be available for that batch.
  • Wait for the order confirmation via text message or email from the Sagada Harvests team
  • Pay your balance via bank transfer or gcash
  • Wait for the go signal when you can pick up your order via Grab/Lalamove/Mr. Speedy
  • Enjoy your Sagada Harvests! Make sure to post and tag them on Facebook to spread the news as well!

If you missed the pre-order, you can also order on or after the Metro Manila touchdown. However, this will not guarantee that your preferences will be available as there is a limited quantity of items.

  • Check the list of available goods on their Facebook page.
  • DM the page with your order list and wait for order confirmation.
  • Once confirmed, pay your balance via bank transfer or Gcash
  • After payment, coordinate the pickup of your order with the Sagada Harvests team. You can use Grab/Lalamove/Mr. Speedy
  • Enjoy your Sagada Harvests! Make sure to post and tag them on Facebook to spread the news as well!
Alternatively, there are different pickup points should you wish to order a little closer to home. Just let the Sagada Harvests team know where you prefer to pickup your goods.
  • Project 8 QC
  • North EDSA
  • Taguig
  • Paranaque
  • Pasig City
  • Mandaluyong
  • Diliman QC
  • Arayat Cubao
  • Liberty Cubao
  • Bataan
  • Calauag

They will be opening their next batch very soon, and I highly recommend that you check them out. The Sagada Harvests team is very amiable and understanding, and will definitely do their best to accommodate your orders.

Being bored in quarantine got me like --

My top three savory guilty pleasures are chili con carne, footlong and bacon. So why not combine them all? 😉

This is my take on the Holiday Cheesedog Footlong #Homepreneur challenge, my very own "FOOTLONG OVERLOAD"! Every ingredient is readily available at your local market (I got mine from our neighborhood talipapa) and all can be prepared in under 2 hours!

All you need to do is fry up the bacon until super crispy, and use the leftover fat for the chili con carne. Saute the garlic, onion and tomatoes until tender then add your ground beef. Cook until browned and add in your tomato paste and spices. Simmer for 15 minutes (longer if you want more flavor) and serve on top of your fried footlong. Top with cheese and crispy bacon bits.

Will you give it a try? Let me know in the comments!

P.S. Yes, you can sell this! I included a price breakdown in my blog, link in bio! ♥️

Best Kept Secret of the South, the Too Much Chocolate Chip Cookie by the Fet Boys

You know that feeling when you taste something so good, you don't want to share it?

That is how most people feel about Fet Boys Too Much Chocolate Chip Cookie, and why you probably haven't heard about them yet.

The Fet Boys are twin brothers Karl and Kirk, with Kirk being the one who bakes all the time. The Too Much Chocolate Chip Cookie is his creation and it comes in GIANT and regular size. When I say it's a GIANT cookie, I mean it.

The Too Much Chocolate Chip Cookie is made of chocolate chip goodness, walnuts, and chunky chewy cookie all rolled into one. People who don't like too much sweetness will enjoy this because it's not too sweet either. The sweetness is just right that even diabetics can eat a piece of this.

If you would like to experience being hugged by a warm cookie, message the Fet Boys on their Facebook Page. If you're not ready to take in the giant version, order the regular version. Make sure you order at least a dozen because everyone who ordered only 6 pieces ordered another dozen after just one bite.

Pricelist:

One of the things that I always look forward to is going out to eat with my friends, and we are always on the lookout for cool new places with good food. .

Just in time for our last get together, our favorite cookie place released their new menu for Group Meals!

Group Meal for 4:
Group Meal for 6 (1500): 1 Onion Rings
2 Pinoy Sweet Style Spaghetti
3 2pcs Buttermilk Fried Chicken
6 pcs Iced Tea
12 1 Bite 2 Bite Cookies

Group Meal for 10 (2600): 3 Chips and Dip
3 2pcs Buttermilk Fried Chicken
4 Pinoy Sweet Style Spaghetti
10 pcs Iced Tea
.
.

Personally, I loved their Buttermilk Fried Chicken, it was so tasty and the portion was really large! I am also a fan of their Pinoy Sweet Style Spaghetti, it definitely captures the nostalgic taste of kiddie spaghetti. As for the chips and the onion rings, I also enjoyed them but I found the taste to be generic. They would be perfect partners to some booze, if Scouts Honor would ever offer alcoholic drinks! .
.

For the drinks, we got to try the House Blend Iced Tea and the Yakult Iced Tea. Both were super good and tasty, and this is coming from someone who does not really like iced tea.
.
.

For the dessert, of it is a given that the cookies are topnotch! I just wish the dessert would be a full size cookie instead of the Bite2Bite cookies. But thatś just my preference! .
.
I would still highly recommend the place as itś not just a food place, but you can also play games and take cute and instagram worthy pics with your barkada! .
.
You know where to go for your next get together!

Sorry, just had to dig right into my fave Tteokbokki! .

.
My first samgyupsal experience was amazing, all thanks to @soban.ktown, who served us a multitude of decadent Korean dishes! You'll find it hard to find a favorite between their Samgyupsal (aged and marinated overnight for jampacked flavor), Dak Ganjeong (super duper crispy and flavorful chicken bites), Japchae, and Tteokbokki! .
.
They also have a variety of sides, like Kimchi, Pamuchim, Gyeranmari, Gamja Sarada, Myeolchi Bokkeum, Kongnamul, Haemul Pajeon and Gyeranjim. Just the banchan alone was a great introduction to Korean food! As for the drinks, they have your regular sodas and juices, but you guys have to try their Fruit shakes and Iced Teas! I especially enjoyed the Mango shake and the Green Iced Tea! .

My friends and I had the Premium BBQ Set, priced at P2,200. This was good for 4, and all 5 of us were so full we had to take a few minutes. All in all I can say it is very reasonably priced for the amount and quality they serve. .
.
I also can't forget about the servers, Al, Jane, Joram, Ferilyn and Melaflor! You guys took our experience even further as you made us feel at home! .
.
Lastly, I have a special giveaway for you guys! We have 2k worth of Soban Ktown Grill GC's up for grabs, so make sure to check out the mechanics below! .
